Anne Boleyn

Hi lovelies, today I am sharing a closer look at my DT creation that I have made for Gecko Galz.
I have used a wonderful image of Anne Boleyn from the Henry's wives digital collage sheet.

"My heart is set.
All goodly sport
for my comfort
who shall me let?"

I have always been interested in the History of King Henry VIII and the lives and sad demise of nearly all of his Six wives.  I have also always had a deep fascination with Anne Boleyn.

I live in the Midlands here in England and Henry VIII stayed at Warwick castle for a brief time back in 1511.

I was really fortunate to visit the wonderful Warwick castle back when I was in Primary school aged seven. It is a magnificent place to visit and if you ever visit England, I would highly recommend a day trip there!

After his progress through the Midlands, Henry VIII stayed at Warwick Castle from at least Tuesday 5th to Sunday 10th September 1511. Henry's royal progresses lacked the fanciful extravagance of his daughter
Elizabeth I. and instead they were business -like and ripe with politicking.

In the castle's great hall he held court with his advisers, hearing the remonstrations and complaints from his tenants in the town and local area and undertook important court business. Such an arduous duty was likely broken up with excessive hunting by the king in the local parks (probably including Wedgnock) which were well known for their sport.

"The King has been very good to me. He promoted me from a simple maid to be a Marchioness. Then he raised me to be Queen. Now he will raise me to be a martyr"
-Anne Boleyn

Thanks so much for stopping by the Den, I really appreciate your visit!

Shabby Chic thank you card

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Artsystamper. There is a brand new challenge over on their blog.

This weeks theme is 'Thank you', so I have created a shabby chic thank you card. I just love anything vintage and shabby chic; so I wanted to design a dreamy, shabby, romantic theme for my card!

Here I have used Artsystamper's stunning 'Mable's Rose' digital stamp which I coloured with Faber Castel pencils. I have also used some shabby pink paper and a music sheet from my own stash.

I have also used some kraft card along with an Xcut scalloped border punch.{I must say that this has to be my favourite border punch in my collection, it's so pretty!}

Once I had adhered all layers of card and paper to a blank pre-scored Kraft card with score tape, I then took a sponge and dabbed white acrylic paint over the card, making sure to add more to the scalloped border.

Finally, I adhered the rose stamp with Arlene's wet glue. I have also dabbed white acrylic paint over the rose to blend everything together. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post!

Winter days - Artsystamper challenge

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Artsystamper
There's a brand new challenge over on their blog and the winner will receive a fabulous prize from their store.

I have created a winter theme mixed media card using the beautiful Snowbirds stamp set and Wintry paper set from Artsystamper.

To create my card, I have used a blank white pre-scored card. Next, I adhered a piece of textured paint paper from my own stash and then layered the distressed blue pine cone paper from the Wintry paper set on top of that. I then added another layer of the texture paper. I have also used a brick wall texture stamp along with Tsukineko Platinum Planet ink to add some more interest on to my card.

I then used a Tim Holtz Holiday Greens die which has been covered with Viva Decor 3D snow. I adhered the branch along with some die cut pinecones to the bottom-left corner of my card. Finally I adhered the beautiful pre-coloured snowbird stamp on to the top of the snowy branch.

Thanks so much for stopping by, please do check out the fabulous challenge and the beautiful creations made by the Design Team.
