A little about me

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well!

My name is Zowie and I am a mother of four wonderful children who never fail to inspire me. I am also a self taught artist/crafter without any formal training; I started paper crafting around eight years ago, and I am very passionate about what I make. I love anything vintage and shabby chic and this reflects largely in my style of crafting, I also like collage and altered art and I do combine both these crafting styles in to my artwork.

I am also the owner of a challenge blog called Crafts Dreamy , which holds Monthly craft challenges, with a winners prize and a top three favourite designer spotlight chosen by my super talented Design Team. If you would like to find out more details and to join in with all the crafty fun please click on the link above. The DT
and I would love to see your wonderful creations!

I live in a quaint little historical town called Dudley in the United Kingdom which has it's own Castle dating back to the Eleventh century, there are also some hauntingly beautiful ruins of an ancient Priory dating back to the same era. Dudley provides much history and I love that I am fortunate to live so close by to these amazing historical sites.

I am also a huge fan of the 1920's- 1950's, especially the roaring twenties! I adore vintage images, the romance and nostalgia of days gone by. This is where I get a lot of my inspiration from, which I incorporate into my designs.

Crafting has bought a lot of joy into my life and I believe that crafting and art is for everyone and a way for one to fully express themselves.

Enjoy the journey

Hello lovely friends,
hope you are well!

Today I am sharing with you a vintage travel tag that I have made.

I started my tag by choosing papers that would co-ordinate
well with this lovely vintage image

Once I choose the paper, I adhered it to white card stock which I cut into tag size.

Next, I layered the paper and adhered a metal clock charm with Glossy accents, I have also added a small piece of music sheet paper behind the clock to give it some added interest.

Finally I printed out sentiments based on a travel theme and adhered those to my tag.

The products that I have used are:

*Craft Sensations paper pads;
*Vintage Elegance
*Vintage world travels
*Vintage Sepia

*Plain white cardstock

Ranger Glossy accents

*Metal clock charm

*Tim Holtz Vintage photo distress ink

Altered Bingo card

Hello lovely friends,
Hope you are well!

Today, I am sharing with you an altered Bingo card that I have recently made.
I am such a hopeless romantic, that when I saw this vintage image, I knew I had to use it in one of my creations! There is something so beautiful and nostalgic about an old-time vintage couple. You see the nostalgia in old Hollywood movies and I like to think that's how real love should actually be! This is where I get a lot of my inspiration from, a wonderful period in time and a lot of romanticism! by taking an image and marrying it with some beautiful paper and embellishments that all co-ordinate, I am finally able to create something that depicts my favourite crafting style.

I have used these wonderful Coffee tone digital papers and I wanted to add a pop of colour to the Cafe Noir colour scheme, so have used these gorgeous Candyfloss mulberry flowers from Noor Design.

Here I have used a vintage Filigree metal button and some Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.

The Products I have used to create my tag are:

Vintage Easter

Hello lovely friends,
hope you are well!

I can't believe that Easter Sunday is almost upon us... here in the UK we celebrate it by buying chocolate eggs, filled with candy, for friends and family. We also have the traditional Hot cross bun; a small, lightly sweetened yeast bun that contains raisins or currants. The reason they get their name is due to a cross being slashed in the top of the bun before baking, when cooled confectioners' sugar icing is used to fill the cross for decoration.

The traditional Easter egg hunt and egg and spoon race are also part of the Easter celebrations for children to enjoy.

I created my tag, using this beautiful wood design paper, it is one of my favourite products to use at the moment, as it adds a natural, shabby look to any design.
I have also used this gorgeous vintage image layered with a soft rose crackled wood paper.

Here I have created a shabby floral collage, by adhering a cute little wooden bird cadge, a mixture of dies and two fishtail banners, which are made out of Kraft cardstock. All of these embellishments have been dusted with Picket fence Distress paint.
This is another favourite product I love to use on my designs.

I have also adhered a metal fountain pen nib and
Easter greeting to add some more interest to my tag.

Finally, I adhered some more beautiful soft pink mulberry roses and matching die cut to the top right hand corner of my tag.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges;

Keep calm and drink coffee!

Hello lovely friends,
hope you are well!

Today I am sharing with you a vintage tag that I have made for my challenge blog, Crafts Dreamy.

This Months theme is Coffee and I designed my Mood board around friendship, cozy get-togethers and a love of coffee. I wanted to create something a little different this time,
so I have made an altered pocket tag.

Here I have used Coffee theme paper and a super sweet Image of these two little girls, they remind me of my older sister and I, with her bossing me around when we were children!

I created the pocket using Kraft card stock and then adhered the wonderful paper and Image.

Next, I added these gorgeous cream and white Mulberry flowers, chocolate glitter stamens, a clock embellishment, which I added clear rock candy to, to give the look of old fashioned glitter glass, some frayed cheesecloth and a piece of Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.

Here I have adhered a darling metal spoon embellishment using Ranger Glossy accents.

I have also created these Vintage tags to store inside the main pocket.

Finally, I added the words 'keep calm and drink coffee'
I think the sentiment fits the photo perfectly!

Thanks once again for stopping by, if you would like to join in with this months challenge please click HERE. The Design Team and I would love to see your wonderful creations.

Happy crafting!
