Ahoy there!

Ahoy there me lovelies! hope you are well. Today I am sharing a mixed media nautical themed art tag. I made this some time ago, but never got around to sharing it on my blog.

I found this stunning vintage image online and have used beautiful papers from Etsy.

Here I have used torn corrugated card, cheese cloth, a digital Seahorse stamp, fishing net die and a silver metal ships wheel charm. Everything has been finished with Walnut stain DI and Picket fence distress paint. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post. Hugs, Zowie xx

Timeless Beauty

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Artsystamper. I have used the beautiful My Magnolia digital paper and stamp set to create my tag.

To create my tag, I chose some paper from the digital kit and some wood design paper from my own stash.

Using double sided tape,  I layered the papers on to a piece of white card stock measured at 3 Inches x 5 Inches. I have also distressed the edges using Black Soot Distress ink.

Next, I adhered a photo of my beautiful fur baby, Roxie. I have been wanting to use a photo of her in my projects for some time and this photo fitted perfectly with Beverly's wonderful paper set.

I then fussy cut the magnolia stamps and adhered those onto the left corner of my tag. Next, I used some cheesecloth and frosted glass stamens. Once dry, I finally added some mulberry white roses and antique pink cherry blossom. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post!

Happy Birthday Momma

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! I am back again tonight sharing with you a custom birthday tag that I made for someone very special!

My Sons' girlfriend kindly asked me to make a tag for her moms' upcoming Birthday next week, so I was very excited to create something special! She sent me a photograph of them both, which I altered to black and white to fit with the colour theme that she chose. Her mom loves pinks and lilacs, so I have used these beautiful papers which I purchased from a shop called 'the works' here in the U.K. There is no designer name on the paper stacks, as I think it is especially made for the shop itself. I have found that you have to be quick in purchasing their paper stacks as they don't always re-stock them, which is a shame as they do carry beautiful paper lines.

I have also used a strip of this gorgeous shabby chic paper, the white day collection by Craft & you design alongside some Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon.

I made a tag from white card stock measuring 5 x 3 inches and adhered the three layers of paper, which I distressed using a distressing tool and Ground espresso distress oxide.

Here I have used some cheesecloth along with a purple/lilac cottage rose10mm lilac open roses and white meadow spray. I have also used die cut leaves using wallpaper and dies from my stash.

Finally, I printed out the words 'Happy Birthday Momma' and adhered those to the bottom of the tag using double sided tape. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post! Hugs Zowie xx

Altered vintage book page paper clips

Hello lovely crafty friends, hope you are well! I am back again to share another DT creation for Linda Israel using the gorgeous 'Outrageous Orange' printable journal kit. This time I have created some altered paper clips using vintage book pages. You can find the fabulous tutorial by Paper crafter 45 here:

Following the above tutorial I tweaked mine to make different sizes, which is super simple to achieve!

The paper clips are hidden at the back of the book page so that it can easily fit onto your journal pages; see photograph below.

For this particular one I have used one of the pieces of flower ephemera included in the Outrageous Orange kit.

Here is a close up of the altered vintage book pages. I have used the ephemera in the kit along with some torn pieces of a distressed brown envelope and cheese cloth.

Here is my altered file folder  that I also made using Linda's kit. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next one! Hugs, Zowie xx

Calico Collage teamed up with Linda Israel and created the Outrageous Orange printable journal kit. This kit merges Linda's mixed media art with Norella's digital style to create a unique one of a kind kit. You can buy the exclusive printable Outrageous Orange kit at Linda's Shop. Also make sure to stop by Norella's shop for over 1000 digital products to use in your paper crafts.

Altered mini file folder

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my latest DT creation for Linda Israel. I have used the gorgeous 'Outrageous Orange' printable journal kit. Here is some info on the collection:

Here I have created an altered file folder using a free basic template from Google images and a piece of Kraft card stock. I distressed the edges of the entire folder using Walnut stain distress ink, then adhered some of the paper from the kit. I also added some of the beautiful ephemera also included. I did however, print off the quote 'fly' as I thought it fitted perfectly with the theme.

Next I decorated the inside of the file folder using some more of the paper and I also adhered a matching pocket with stored ephemera.

Finally, I decorated the back panel of the folder; all edges of paper have been distressed using a distressing tool and Walnut stain distress ink.

Here I have added another of my DT creations; an altered vintage book page paper clip. You can find the blog post HERE

Bella Rose Garden Collection

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Linda Isreal. I have made a vintage envelope pocket and tag using the stunning Bella Rose Garden collection.

I created this envelope pocket using a plain brown envelope and adhered these beautiful papers from the Bella Rose Garden collection. I have distressed all edges using a Tim Holtz paper distressor and Vintage Photo distress ink to keep my project old and vintage looking.

I also made a tag to fit inside the pocket using co-ordinating paper from the same collection.

Here I have made a small floral collage using baby pink Sweetheart blossom and  white Cherry blossom. I also added some cheese cloth, white pearl stamens and die cut leaves from M&C Boutique.

Finally, I added a sweet pink butterfly from the collection and printed out the word 'love letters'.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post. Hugs Zowie xx
