Happy Birthday Momma

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! I am back again tonight sharing with you a custom birthday tag that I made for someone very special!

My Sons' girlfriend kindly asked me to make a tag for her moms' upcoming Birthday next week, so I was very excited to create something special! She sent me a photograph of them both, which I altered to black and white to fit with the colour theme that she chose. Her mom loves pinks and lilacs, so I have used these beautiful papers which I purchased from a shop called 'the works' here in the U.K. There is no designer name on the paper stacks, as I think it is especially made for the shop itself. I have found that you have to be quick in purchasing their paper stacks as they don't always re-stock them, which is a shame as they do carry beautiful paper lines.

I have also used a strip of this gorgeous shabby chic paper, the white day collection by Craft & you design alongside some Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon.

I made a tag from white card stock measuring 5 x 3 inches and adhered the three layers of paper, which I distressed using a distressing tool and Ground espresso distress oxide.

Here I have used some cheesecloth along with a purple/lilac cottage rose10mm lilac open roses and white meadow spray. I have also used die cut leaves using wallpaper and dies from my stash.

Finally, I printed out the words 'Happy Birthday Momma' and adhered those to the bottom of the tag using double sided tape. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post! Hugs Zowie xx

Bella Rose Garden Collection

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Linda Isreal. I have made a vintage envelope pocket and tag using the stunning Bella Rose Garden collection.

I created this envelope pocket using a plain brown envelope and adhered these beautiful papers from the Bella Rose Garden collection. I have distressed all edges using a Tim Holtz paper distressor and Vintage Photo distress ink to keep my project old and vintage looking.

I also made a tag to fit inside the pocket using co-ordinating paper from the same collection.

Here I have made a small floral collage using baby pink Sweetheart blossom and  white Cherry blossom. I also added some cheese cloth, white pearl stamens and die cut leaves from M&C Boutique.

Finally, I added a sweet pink butterfly from the collection and printed out the word 'love letters'.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next post. Hugs Zowie xx

Nature pocket card

Hello dear friends, hope you are well!

Today, I am sharing with you a nature inspired pocket card that I recently made, inspired by the lovely and extremely talented Stacy Zimmerman Hutchinson from Tattered Nest Designs

To start, I took a blank Kraft envelope and covered all sides with these beautiful digital papers from the Secret Garden set 02 and Secret Garden set 04

For the inside of the card, I created some pockets to store my art tags HERE  which I made for this project. Here I have hand-stitched a beautiful vintage photo booth photograph to give some added interest and I also added a vintage stamp and some Botanicals.

I have adhered some music note tissue paper to this pocket, which I also used on my tags to match the theme.

These beautiful Botanicals have been inked with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide as have all the edges of the pocket card and tags.

I have also used these beautiful Vintage bird illustrations as tags and as a focal image for the front of my pocket card.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visit!

A wonderful life

Hello dear friends, hope you are having a lovely day/evening where you are in the world! Here in the UK, the nights are drawing in earlier and the weather is getting much cooler. Now that September is here, Fall/Autmn is soon to be upon us.

For this tag, I wanted to use a monochromatic colour scheme, with a touch of colour. Here I have used paper from my stash, including some wood design wallpaper. I love using wallpaper in my creations, I think it adds a different texture and look. Music note tissue paper has also been added to match the colour scheme.

I have used this delightful photo booth image, a black and white botanical which I adhered on to my tag along with a sentiment.

This art tag has also been included along with other tags that I created for my nature inspired pocket card, which you can find HERE

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look, I really do appreciate your visit!

Go where you feel most alive

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well!

I am so thrilled and honoured to be a Guest Designer this Month over on the
Frilly and Funkie Challenge blog
Our hostess, Sara Emily has chosen the following as this Months theme:

“Having just returned from our annual trek to the mountains of West Virginia where we observed so much natural beauty on our hikes, I couldn't help but make my challenge nature themed. You can make anything you like, from a card or tag to altered art, just be sure to include a natural element in your vintage or shabby chic project. Think real twigs, leaves, shells, pebbles. Or you could include a die cut or a stamped or stenciled  image representing a natural object.”

I wanted to create a real feel of nature for this tag, so I have used neutral tones. I have used a variety of papers from Maja design and Lemon craft and this delightful bird image. I distressed all layers with Walnut stain distress ink.

Here I have used a Tim Holtz Bingo embossing folder on the top layer of paper, I also tore the edges, the paper was quite thin, which made the fibres break down a little, but the end result gave more of an old and worn distressed look, which I was happy with!

To complete the final look, I used a grunge background stamp along with Black soot distress ink, which I applied on to the main image. I have also used the Tim Holtz Holiday Greens die set to use as a natural element and I printed out the words 'go where you feel most alive' and adhered those to the
bottom of the tag.

Hope you like my nature inspired tag!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
