Hello lovelies, hope you are having a good day/evening where you are in the world! Tonight I am sharing some more vintage postcards/identity cards that I have created using these photographs of some rather dashing Gentlemen!
I have created a vintage postcard penned by the very dashing Gentleman, Sir William Thompson, to his sweetheart Emily and their daughter Lily.
Bellow, I also designed these postcards from Williams' family. I would like to imagine that their story was real:
William and Emily Thompson met on the 15th January of 1895. It was a cold, dark winters' night in Rosebery Avenue, greater London., The cruel winters' chill did not deter Emily Walker, a young high spirited girl of Eighteen and her close friend Beatrice Hart from attending an evening of dance and festivities at a grandeur residence in Park Lane, Westminster.
Emily and Beatrice, were beautifully dressed in long flowing gowns of blush pink silk and cashmere. They excitedly ticked off their dance cards throughout the fun filled evening with the Cotilion as their last dance. The young ladies danced enthusiastically with two dashing gentlemen, one of which happened to be the soigné Mr William Thompson.
May soon arrived with William and Emily deeply in love. and on one Recrudesce Spring evening William romantically proposed. Emily gleefully accepted and they later married in the small but charming St Pancras old church. The wedding day was blissful with both their families attending and whishing them a lifetime of joy and happiness. Emily looked enchanting in her elegant wedding gown and William was more enamoured with her beauty as they took their vows and as dusk arrived a lavish party was the perfect ending to such a idyllic evening.
A year later, in the month of March, they welcomed a precious baby girl, Lily. The little family of three prospered and a good life endured.
A blissful Two years passed by and in February of 1898 William was posted to a new position overseas where he worked as a banker for Robarts & Co.
Very soon the reality of being so far away from his dearest wife and daughter, made him long to see them both with every passing day.
I would like to imagine that William and Emily were reunited that same year.
