Snail Mail- glassine bags

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing some faux glassine bags that I have made. I was inspired by the talented Splattered Inky on Instagram.

I have used tracing paper to create the glassine bags, some vintage book and dictionary pages (which I picked up from a local thrift store) and some music sheets.

I fussy cut some vintage owl images, which I adhered to the bags. Everything has been distressed with Vintage photo distress ink. Next, I adhered some antique postage stamps. Finally, I stamped a clear postal stamp using Black soot distress ink.

Thanks so much for visiting the Fairy Den!

Tim Holtz Artist Trading Card

Hello my lovelies, hope you are well and staying safe? There's so much chaos and uncertainty in the world right now. Everybody is unnerved and a lot of people in the crafting community are showing camaraderie and sending out a positive message to carry on crafting, which I think is a great idea.
Please though stay indoors if you can and take care of yourselves and your families.

Arty Divas  is hosting their brand new challenge, which starts today. The theme is ATG and you can create anything you wish, a card, tag, an ATC, mixed media project etc! The Design Team look forward to seeing your lovely creations!

For my DT creation I have made a friendship ATC. My mojo has been missing lately, so a small project is just what I needed to get back into the swing of things!

I have created a collage background using various torn pieces of paper and ephemera. Everything has been distressed with Vintage Photo Distress ink.
Finally, I adhered these wonderful Tim Holtz paper dolls, I just love them!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your visit and kind comments!
Stay safe.

Top of the Mornin'

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! There's a brand new challenge over at Artsystamper the theme is 'Green green, it's green they say'! and the winner will receive a wonderful prize from the Artsystamper shop.

For my DT creation I wanted to design a card for St Patrick's day. Here I have used the wonderful Lucky Oxalis digital stamp and paper kit, (which is half price through St Patrick's day.)

To create my card, I layered these beautiful papers from the kit on to the front of a pre-scored Kraft card, the edges of the paper have been distressed with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Next, I tore a sheet of paper from my vintage French dictionary. I like to collect old books from Thrift stores and I love adding vintage paper into my artwork!

I also adhered this darling St Patrick's day vintage image which I found on Pinterest.

Finally I added these lovely pre-coloured stamps from the kit and printed out a sentiment.

I hope that you will join in with the challenge over at Artsystamper the DT would love to see your wonderful creations! You can create anything, a card, tag, layout etc and you are not required to use an Artsystamper image, however, if you do you will gain an extra entry into the draw!

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next one!

Vintage lady

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my DT creation for Artsystamper. I have used the Perfect Pansy digital stamp set to create my vintage artist trading card.

To create my ATC, I have used some paper from my own stash which I adhered onto a piece of kraft card stock measured at 2.5 Inches x 3.5 Inches. Next, I used the figure and script stamps from the Tim Holtz nature walk stamp set along with Black soot distress ink and stamped on top of the paper in various places.

I then tore a vintage French dictionary page and adhered that also on to the centre of my ATC. Next, I added this beautiful vintage photograph.

To complete my creation, I adhered the digital Pansy stamp from the set to compliment the colour scheme of my artist trading card. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next one!

Altered vintage book page paper clips

Hello lovely crafty friends, hope you are well! I am back again to share another DT creation for Linda Israel using the gorgeous 'Outrageous Orange' printable journal kit. This time I have created some altered paper clips using vintage book pages. You can find the fabulous tutorial by Paper crafter 45 here:

Following the above tutorial I tweaked mine to make different sizes, which is super simple to achieve!

The paper clips are hidden at the back of the book page so that it can easily fit onto your journal pages; see photograph below.

For this particular one I have used one of the pieces of flower ephemera included in the Outrageous Orange kit.

Here is a close up of the altered vintage book pages. I have used the ephemera in the kit along with some torn pieces of a distressed brown envelope and cheese cloth.

Here is my altered file folder  that I also made using Linda's kit. Thanks so much for stopping by, see you on the next one! Hugs, Zowie xx

Calico Collage teamed up with Linda Israel and created the Outrageous Orange printable journal kit. This kit merges Linda's mixed media art with Norella's digital style to create a unique one of a kind kit. You can buy the exclusive printable Outrageous Orange kit at Linda's Shop. Also make sure to stop by Norella's shop for over 1000 digital products to use in your paper crafts.
