Vintage Angel

Angels, in the early morning
may be seen the dews among,
stooping-plucking-smiling-flying-
do the buds to them belong?

Hi lovelies, today I am sharing some postcard art that I have created for Twitrartexhibit

This year they are raising proceeds for the Encephalitis society. Artists can donate their postcard art in their online and live auction.

Please click on the link above to find out more information about their charity.

As an artist, I am constantly learning new techniques and I get inspired by so many great artists that I have come to know through Facebook, Instagram and Blogger.

Suzy Quaife is one of those artists;  I find her work so amazing and inspiring.  For my postcard, I was inspired by Suzy to use classical art along with lots of different styles of paper, collaging bits and pieces until they complimented each other. I also love the combination of this vintage blue and cream colour pallet.

There will be a list of the products that I used at the bottom of this page. Please scroll down to see them.

Recipe of products used:

Kraft cardstock

Blue vintage flower - the graphics fairy

Word labels

The Owls serenade

A wise old owl sat in an oak,
The more he heard, the less he spoke
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
why aren't we all like that wise old bird?

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! Today I am sharing a vintage owl card that I have created.

I have used these beautiful papers from Pink Monarch Prints and this lovely vintage Owl advertisement from Pinterest.

To make my card, I have used some Kraft cardstock along with the Christmas junk journal papers. I have distressed all edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. Next, I tore some corrugated cardboard and adhered it to the left side of my card.

Here I have designed my own vintage library card. This is a fun way to personalise some ephemera.

Next, I adhered this beautiful red poinsettia along with red glitter stamens and some twine, which I wrapped around the owl image. I also added two feather die cuts from kraft cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by the Den! See you on the next post!

Anne Boleyn

Hi lovelies, today I am sharing a closer look at my DT creation that I have made for Gecko Galz.
I have used a wonderful image of Anne Boleyn from the Henry's wives digital collage sheet.

"My heart is set.
All goodly sport
for my comfort
who shall me let?"

I have always been interested in the History of King Henry VIII and the lives and sad demise of nearly all of his Six wives.  I have also always had a deep fascination with Anne Boleyn.

I live in the Midlands here in England and Henry VIII stayed at Warwick castle for a brief time back in 1511.

I was really fortunate to visit the wonderful Warwick castle back when I was in Primary school aged seven. It is a magnificent place to visit and if you ever visit England, I would highly recommend a day trip there!

After his progress through the Midlands, Henry VIII stayed at Warwick Castle from at least Tuesday 5th to Sunday 10th September 1511. Henry's royal progresses lacked the fanciful extravagance of his daughter
Elizabeth I. and instead they were business -like and ripe with politicking.

In the castle's great hall he held court with his advisers, hearing the remonstrations and complaints from his tenants in the town and local area and undertook important court business. Such an arduous duty was likely broken up with excessive hunting by the king in the local parks (probably including Wedgnock) which were well known for their sport.

"The King has been very good to me. He promoted me from a simple maid to be a Marchioness. Then he raised me to be Queen. Now he will raise me to be a martyr"
-Anne Boleyn

Thanks so much for stopping by the Den, I really appreciate your visit!
